When her father dies, leaving her alone, Bella decides to answer an ad for a mail order bride. She takes a train to Creek expecting him to meet her at the train station. When she arrives there is no one there to meet her. Not knowing what else to do, she goes to the sheriff’s office to try to locate him. Unfortunately the sheriff tells her that her potential husband has been arrested in connection with a bank robbery. She has no idea what to do next. Ambrose, the sheriff, helps her get a job working in a kitchen on a ranch where his two sisters are working. The characters feel like a part of your family and you can’t help but want everything to work out for them. Although Bella feels that she needs to be true to the promise she made to the man she has agreed to marry, she finds herself drawn more and more to Ambrose. There are unusual situations, lots of danger, and plenty of romance as the story unfolds. Will Bella marry the criminal who is in jail out of a sense of duty? What about the feelings that have developed between Bella and Ambrose? This is a delightful book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I would highly recommend it to anyone who likes a good romance that shows how a family supports each other through thick and thin.I received an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.
